Notary Services in Israel
Advocate and Notary Yossi Meshulam provides notarial services for individuals, families and businesses in Israel and abroad in English and Hebrew. Each request is reviewed according to the document, the receiving authority and the country in which it will be used. This preliminary check helps determine whether the client needs signature authentication, a certified copy, a notarial translation, an Apostille or a different form of certification.
Main notary services include
Notarized approval of documents in Hebrew and English.
Authentication of signatures on powers of attorney, declarations and other documents.
Notarial powers of attorney, including documents connected with mortgages and real-estate transactions.
Certified true copies of original documents or passport.
Notarial certificates for affidavits and declarations where legally appropriate.
Authentication of a prenuptial agreement signed before marriage.
Hebrew-to-English and English-to-Hebrew notarial translations.
Life certificates and additional certificates permitted under Israeli notarial law.

For statutory rates and common questions, see the notary fee schedule and notary questions and answers.
Hebrew–English and English–Hebrew notarial translation
A notarial translation is often required when an official document issued in one language must be submitted to an authority, university, bank, court, immigration body or other institution operating in the other language. The notary certifies the correctness of the translation only after reviewing the complete source document and the complete translation and being satisfied that their meaning corresponds.
Common documents include birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates; diplomas and academic transcripts; passports and identity documents; company documents; court or legal documents; powers of attorney; and documents connected with inheritance or real estate.
What the service includes
Review of the intended use and the receiving authority’s requirements.
Examination of the source document and confirmation that it is complete and legible.
Translation from Hebrew into English or from English into Hebrew, followed by terminology and consistency checks.
Preparation of the notarial certificate and attachment of the source and translated documents in the required form.
Guidance on apostille authentication when the document is intended for use abroad.
Notarial translation or translator’s affidavit
These are not interchangeable. In a notarial translation, the notary certifies the correctness of the translation on the basis of the notary’s knowledge of both languages. In other cases, a translator may sign an affidavit or declaration concerning the translation, and the notary authenticates the translator’s signature. Before ordering the service, ask the authority whether it requires a notarial certificate of translation, a certified copy, an apostille, or a translator’s affidavit.
How to obtain a quote
Send a clear scan of every page and state where the document will be submitted, the required language direction and the deadline. The statutory notarial fee is calculated according to the applicable tariff, including the number of words where relevant. Translation and document-preparation work may be quoted separately. The original document may need to be presented before the certificate is issued.
Read the dedicated guide to English–Hebrew notarial translation.
Apostille and use abroad
A notarial certificate does not automatically make a document acceptable in every country. The receiving authority may also require an apostille or consular legalization. Requirements differ by country and by type of document, so they should be confirmed before the certificate is prepared.
Official information: apostille for notarial certificates.
